Get some fuel for thought!

10:10am Thursday 17th July 2008

DESPITE rising fuel prices, more than two million new cars are expected to be purchased in Britain this year - and some of those are likely to find new owners at this weekend's Christchurch Motorshow.

Held at Twynham School playing fields, Sopers Lane, the two day event (which has moved from its traditional May date) brings together the newest models from 18 of the leading automotive brands - that is everything from fuel-saving urban runarounds to glossy sportscars, family-sized MPVs and even a scattering of four by fours.

One of the benefits of a show such as this is that the whole family can hop in and out of cars, comparing one against the other on one site without having to drag around several dealerships. Many of the cars will be getting their first show viewing in the south, having only arrived in the showrooms in the past few weeks.

Many of the exhibitors will be offering special show deals with money off cars bought at the event, free fuel, free servicing and free road tax.

Christchurch Motor Show is open from 10am to 5pm. Admission and parking is free.

To celebrate this year's Christchurch Motorshow, the Daily Echo and the exhibitors are offering one Daily Echo reader the chance to win £1,000 to put towards the cost of their fuel. Details appear in Friday's Daily Echo and in Saturday's too.

Completed entry forms can be sent to the Daily Echo or posted in a special entry box on the Daily Echo stand at the show.
