A FAMILY firm from Bridport has been trying out life on the Ocean wave.
Ocean Bathrooms was chosen for the unusual project to design new bathrooms for newly re-built square rigger sailing ship TS Pelican.
Based in Portland harbour, the TS Pelican is due to set out on its maiden transatlantic voyage in September with 30 young trainees aboard.
The ship was recently completely renovated with only the original 1946 hull remaining.
Ocean Bathrooms worked closely with the ship's Commander Graham Neilson to design and fit seven en-suite bathrooms aboard the ship complete with waterproof panels.
Robert Muhl, director of Ocean Bathrooms, said: "We have used Mermaid wall boarding in our bathroom designs for many years, but this is our first time in a sailing ship. It was an exciting project for us."
The TS Pelican will be used for adventure holidays and corporate team building exercises once renovations are complete.
