A WEST Dorset company has supported a local charity by donating money from the sale of its sparkling wine.
The Furleigh Estate near Salway Ash raised more than £400 for Weldmar Hospicecare during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The company donated money through the sale of its sparkling rosé wine.
Rebecca Hansford, owner of Furleigh Estate, said: “Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month we reminded people to 'think pink' by putting our grape pickers to work dressed in pink.
"We raised money for Weldmar Hospicecare through the sale of Furleigh Estate's sparkling rosé. In total we sold 438 bottles, which in turn meant a donation of £438 to the Weldmar.
"We are very pleased to be able to support a local charity which provides vital support to cancer and care patients and their families in Dorset”.
The charity thanked the company for its support.
Jon Panton, business fundraising manager for Weldmar Hospicecare, said “Weldmar Hospicecare relies so much on the support of local businesses to ensure that we can be there when our patients and their families need us most.
"We are so grateful to Rebecca and all at Furleigh Estate for their kind donation.”
