This message is for my friend of over 50 years who took care of my schooling in Kenya,I will for sure miss her:
I am sad to learn the passing of Olive Brenda Peat on the 17 November 2011 and her cremation on 9th December 2011. I mourn her death and I will always cherish the time we spent together when she took me as part of her family, educated me and saw me grow into a woman I am now. Olive I love you and I will always remember your kindness. Olive I have tried to send you letters and called many times and I never heard from you. I was worried but you know my financial problems Olive, I could not come to visit. I had hoped this coming year would be the year to visit, so why did you go so soon.Olive my heart hurts very much. Sorry Olive, May God keep your soul in heaven till we meet again.I am hoping this message will be read on my behalf before your burial. I need to know that you got the message. I need also to know what happened to you after the fast heart attack. Pius, my husband mourns with me. Peter and Brenda are sad you are gone. Whom shall I tell the stories of my children, Kenya etc. My heart is broken, Olive but Cherio go in peace and we will meet one day.

A thank you note to the following in Bridport:
First and formost, the Bridport News for publishing my message of honour to a fallen friend, mother, guardian, sister or whatever else you would call her. I met Olive at the age of 13 when she was only thirty. I did not know much English and she was the first English woman I had met in life. It took me some time to understand her. With passage of time we became good friends and the language barrier faded as we communicated freely and visited each other. ashe was a down to earth person who wanted to help me go to the best schools and be a supporter of my family in the future. Her parents took up the burden of my school fees and I was thrilled with my luckof finding angels to take care of me. Olive's story in Afica is long and a real thriller. I hope to continue with it another time.
For now let me thank two people who helped me deal with the sudden news of death of my 50 year old real friendship. Helen Allen is that person I want to thank for calming me down and listening to my rumbling. She made my night in the USA easier to handle. She took all her time to listen and yet I know she must have been busy in the office. Helen, Thank you for all you do to help those grieving for their loved ones and especially those who receive the bad news while many miles away. Thank you for promising that a friend of Olive would call me and enlighten me. Sure Heather Redshaw was indeed a big help in easing my worries of what my beloved Olive went through before she died. She listened to my cryings and comforted me. Heather yyou helped me alot. I now visualize Olive surrounded by friends in a city she loved very much. She always told me how beautiful the city was with great beaches. Sory Olive you will miss this city but the people there will not let your love of the city and your name die. I hope to visit this Bridport one day and see for myself what you kept on singing about but now in your presence. You are gone but your spirit will live in Bridport forever!
