IF advertising Bridport's Millennium Green is the motivation behind the annual May Fair it did its job admirably on bank holiday Monday.

Now in its 15th year the Millennium Green Trust's celebration of spring is going from strength to strength.

Chairman of the trustees new Mayor Cllr Sandra Brown said it was a good turnout.

She said: "It's primary aim is just to draw attention to the fact that the Green is here and can be used.

"We do raise money too and we'll be looking for something else to do in the autumn to raise more although it is difficult to think of things."

Cllr Brown said they'd love to see new blood on the committee and even some men, to breathe new life into the fundraising.

She said money was always needed and this year flower beds in the garden would need to be replaced.

She added: "It is nice to see the green being used."
