A children’s contact centre is taking part in a national campaign in the hope of raising awareness of, and referrals to, their service.
Run by two co-ordinators and trained volunteers; staff at the Bridport Child Contact Centre is taking part in the National Association of Child Centres’ awareness campaign this week.
The NACC-accredited organisation, based at Bridport children’s centre next to St Mary’s Primary School, says they aim to ‘enhance relationships following family breakdown by offering contact in for parents who are not living with their children’.
The group provides a “safe and comfortable environment” in a friendly play-focused setting, and they accept self-referrals as well as referrals from solicitors, family mediators, social services and other organisations.
All their volunteers have a neutral attitude and do compile reports on any of the children or parents that visit the centre.
