BRIDPORT Museum has given members of the public a preview of the possible look of their new rope and net gallery.

The Museum was given a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund in March for their 'Bridport Dagger' redevelopment, which proposes a complete re-design of the interior of the museum and its displays.

Bridport Museum said they are continuing to push forward with the plans and have released the first image of a design concept for what the new gallery could look like.

They said volunteers have been cataloguing collections and conducting research alongside museum staff, who are developing ideas to raise remaining funding to support the project.

The new gallery is part of the overall plans and the Museum is holding launch event for the wider redevelopment on February 11 at 2pm in Bridport Town Hall.

Interested individuals will have the chance to learn more details about the proposals and how they can get involved.

Museum Director Emily Hicks said: “This event is an opportunity to find out more about the current plans but also contribute to what our museum might look like in the future.

“We will be talking through the different elements of the project and answering any questions.

“We will also be announcing some exciting and different fundraising schemes for the project. ”

The February launch event is open to all and tea and cake will be served by the Friends of Bridport Museum afterwards.
